J.M. Coetzee published new novel in Dutch: always a privilege

Yes, let’s put the Dutch title up first this time. And here we go: “The Childhood of Jesus”. I’m an avid reader of J.M. Coetzee and I’ll definitely be posting my opinion of his new book here someday soon. To me, “Waiting For The Barbarians” is one of the most chilling tales of malfunctioning mankind around. And that’s only one title. “They are coming…”, isn’t that something that sounds familiar even now, more than three decades later? We still seem to be waiting for “them”… But as we are waiting for another code yellow alert from the government (even The Netherlands are not deemed safe these days), we might as well read the new Coetzee and see if he can make some sense of it all…
